Overview

Custom Email (SMTP) + TackQuote

TackQuote supports custom SMTP configuration so quotes, reminders, and notifications are delivered from your own email domain. Buyers receive emails from your address — not a generic [email protected] — strengthening brand trust and improving deliverability.

Configure SMTP credentials in TackQuote settings. All outbound emails use your configured server from that point forward.

Where to connect. Setup happens in the seller portal — most connectors under Integrations, the rest on the Settings page named in the setup steps below.

Before you start

What you'll need

  • SMTP server with outbound access on port 587 (TLS) or 465 (SSL)
  • Valid sending domain with SPF and DKIM records recommended
  • TackQuote Basic plan or above

Setup

How to connect Custom Email (SMTP)

  1. Get SMTP credentials

From your mail provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or your own server), obtain SMTP host, port, username, and password or app-specific password.
  2. Configure in TackQuote

Go to TackQuote Settings → Email Delivery. Enter your SMTP credentials, from address, and from display name.
  3. Send a test email

Use TackQuote's built-in send test feature to verify deliverability from your SMTP server.

Capabilities

What you get

Custom SMTP

Configure any SMTP server to send TackQuote emails — your own mail server, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or a third-party ESP like SendGrid.

Custom From Address

Buyers see emails from your own address (e.g. [email protected]) instead of a TackQuote system address.

Reply-To Configuration

Set reply-to addresses per quote so buyer replies go directly to the owning rep's inbox.

Deliverability Diagnostics

TackQuote checks SPF and DKIM alignment for your sending domain and flags misconfigurations before quotes start landing in spam.

FAQ

Custom Email (SMTP) questions

Can I use Gmail or Google Workspace SMTP?

Yes. Use Google Workspace SMTP relay or generate an app-specific password for your Gmail account to use with TackQuote.

What do I need to configure custom SMTP?

SMTP host, port, and credentials from your provider, plus a sending domain with SPF and DKIM records in place for best deliverability. TackQuote Basic plan or above is required.

Does this affect the buyer portal or only outbound email?

Custom SMTP only changes the sending address and server for outbound quote emails and reminders. The buyer portal experience itself is unaffected.
