Quick Start Guide
From creating your account to sending your first live quote — everything you need for day one.
Section 1
Account Setup
Create your TackQuote account
Go to tackquote.com/register, enter your work email and company details, then verify your email. Your account is created with a 14-day Pro trial — no card required.
Complete your company profile
Go to Settings → Company and fill in:
- Upload your logo — it appears in the buyer portal header and on PDF quotes
- Set your default currency (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD supported)
- Set your timezone for quote expiry dates
- Configure your quote number format. Default:
TK-YYYY-XXXXXX(e.g.TK-2026-000142)
Set up your email sender
Go to Settings → Email. By default, quote emails send from
[email protected]. To send from your own domain:- Custom SMTP: Enter your SMTP host, port, username, and password
- Custom sender name: Set a friendly display name like

Section 2
Your First Quote
Click "New Quote" from the dashboard
From the seller dashboard, click New Quote in the top-right corner. You can also press
Nas a keyboard shortcut.Select or create a buyer
Search for an existing buyer by name or email. If they're new, click Add buyerand enter their name and work email. Buyers don't need a TackQuote account.
Add line items
Type a product name or SKU into the line item search bar. TackQuote searches your connected catalog in real time. You can also add a line item manually by clicking Add custom item.
Set pricing
For each line item, set the unit price, quantity, and an optional discount — either a flat amount or a percentage. TackQuote calculates subtotals and tax in real time.
Mark optional line items
Toggle any line item as Optional to let the buyer include or exclude it before accepting. Optional items are visually distinct in the buyer portal.
Set expiry date and notes
Set a quote expiry date (after which the buyer portal shows an expired state) and add any internal or buyer-facing notes. Internal notes are visible only to your team.
Preview and send
Click Preview to see the buyer's view, then click Send Quote. The buyer receives a unique link they can open without logging in.
The quote number is auto-generated (e.g.TK-2026-000001). Once sent, the quote moves fromdrafttosentin the lifecycle, and you'll see a read receipt when the buyer first opens the link.
Section 3
Templates
Templates let you build the scaffold of a quote once and reuse it. You can create them from scratch or save any existing quote as a template.
- Go to Settings → Templates → New Template to build one from scratch
- On any quote, click Save as Template to capture its line items, pricing, and notes
- Mark a template as Default — it pre-loads when you click New Quote, saving the first few steps
- Pro plan unlocks the Pro Template Gallery: pre-built quote structures for SaaS annual contracts, professional services retainers, product bundles, and more
Section 4
Approval Workflows
For quotes above a certain value, TackQuote can hold a send until one or more people approve it. Workflows are configured once and then run automatically.
Set up a workflow
- Go to Settings → Approvals → New Workflow
- Set a threshold: e.g. Quotes over $10,000 require approval
- Choose approvers by role (e.g. all Sales Managers) or by specific user
- Add more steps for larger amounts — for example, Manager approval for
>$10k, then VP approval for>$50k, then Legal review for>$100k

Inviting Your Team
Go to Settings → Team → Invite Member, enter an email address, and assign a role. The invited person receives an email with a link to set up their password.

Section 6
Connecting Integrations
Integrations live in the top-level Integrations section of the seller portal. Connect your CRM to sync contacts and deals; connect your store to pull live catalog data into quotes. For the full list of platforms and connect flows, see the Integrations guide; to accept payments, see Payments.
Open Integrations
Find the integration you want to connect. TackQuote supports HubSpot, Salesforce, and BigCommerce out of the box.
Connect HubSpot or Salesforce
Click Connectnext to HubSpot or Salesforce. You'll be redirected to the provider's OAuth login. Authorize access, then return to TackQuote. Your contacts and deals sync automatically going forward.
Connect BigCommerce
Click Connect next to BigCommerce, then enter:
